Fells Point Street Scene, BaltimoreThe Fells Point neighborhood (or Fell's Point) of Baltimore is a vibrant waterfront community with a large collection of shops, restaurants, and pubs.  The neighborhood is very attractive with its cobblestone street, historic architecture, eclectic collection of shops, pubs, and restaurants, and waterfront location.  You can find live music at many of the local pubs.

 

Fells Point, established in 1730 by William Fell, is a National Historic District.  Fells Point was originally a maritime community, with an economy based in shipbuilding.

 

Getting To Fells Point by Water Taxi

Fells Point is located east of the Inner Harbor and is a stop on the water taxi route.  The main Fells Point water taxi stop is landing 11, which is located at Broadway Pier, at the heart of Fells Point.  Landing 8, is at the Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park, which is at the west end of Thames Street.

 

Fell's Point Visitors Center

The Fell's Point Visitor Center, located at 1732 Thames Street, is open daily for information about the Fells Point neighborhood and the greater Baltimore area.

 

Things to See and Do in Fells Point

Homicide TV Show set, Fells Point BaltimoreThe Fells Point neighborhood will look familiar to fans of the television show Homicide: Life in the Streets.  The show was filmed in this neighborhood.

 

The Preservation Society offers a variety of Fells Point Walking tours.  All tours begins at the Fells Point Visitor Center, 1732 Thames Street.  Visit their website for details.

 

The Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Park is a national heritage site that highlights African American maritime history, Frederick Douglass's life in Baltimore, the life of Isaac Myers, a free born African American who became a national leader, the establishment of the African American community in Baltimore in the 1800's, and shipbuilding traditions of the Chesapeake Bay.  The museum includes an introductory film, shipbuilding displays, community artifacts, hands on activities, and a marine railway model.  This waterfront museum offers panoramic views of the Baltimore waterfront.  The museum is located at 1417 Thames Street, at the corner of Caroline and Thames. 

Baltimore Ghost Tours offers a Fells Point Ghost Walk tour of ghosts and hauntings in historic Fell's Point.  These tours explore haunted pubs, shops, and residences, under the cover of night.  They also offer the Fells Point Haunted PubWalk.  More Information.



Fells Point Art Galleries

Street Scene, Fells Point Baltimore

There are many art galleries in Fells Point.  These galleries are featured on the first Friday of each month for the Fells Point Art Loop, from 5:00 to 9:00pm.  The ArtLoop features art shows, openings, events and great food. 

 

Food and Drinks in Fells Point

There are no shortage of places to eat and drink in the Fells Point neighborhood.  There are lots of restaurants, coffee houses and pubs.  View a current list of restaurants and bars.

 

Fells Point Events

In addition to the daily entertainment found in Fells Point establishments, Fells Point host several festivals and events throughout the year including the Fells Point Fun Festival and Privateer Day.

 

The Fells Point Development Corp, the non profit Main Street program for the neighborhood, promotes the historic downtown district through activities such as helping businesses, beautifying the neighborhood, coordinating with other organizations, and holding events.  Check out their website for information on current events in Fells Point
